Today we did a short hike up Haystack Mountain in Liberty, before camping at Lake St. George State Park. It's a very easy loop over the mountain, and the views from the blueberry barrens at the summit are spectacular for such a short mountain. I know that the summit area was closed for a while, so it's nice to see it back open to the public again. We found the campground at Lake St. George State Park to be quite nice, especially if you reserve a site in the outer loop away from the main part of the campground. The outer area is much quieter with wider spaced sites. |
