Dog-Related Notes: Dogs would be fine. Please pick up after them and DON'T leave the bag in the parking lot because you didn't want to take it in your car!
Bugs
Bugs: Minor buzzing by mosquitoes until the 2nd tote road crossing. Nothing much above that unless you dawdle too long.

Comments
Comments: Southern Approach = near Albany village up the hill road to the east
Northern Approach = maybe 13 min from Albany village

Trail in diverges at the parking lot from mountain bike trails which have recently reopened. Boomers with their spouses were heard falling off their bikes on the mountain bike trail. I looked and called if someone needed help but no answer; all the cars in the parking lot were gone when I returned.

Trail then diverges about a mile in between north loop and south loop. North loop is shorter. BUT I think the 1mi is not the right mileage. I think it's slightly longer than a mile to the ledge lookup. Did an out and back. 1 hr 20 min to the north ledge lookout; 50 min to get back to the car. Great shorter day hike. I'd not go here when it's busy with leaf peeping - rather go farther afield.

Also, don't have someone wear sneakers on this trail. Hiking shoes/trail runners are fine, but it's a muggy trail most likely most of the year and too much opportunity for slippage (though I didn't slip in Danner trail runners)

Good times.
