 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The road that you take in is called “Ducktail Pond Road” on Gaia. The only part of the guidebook’s directions that I did not find accurate were the left turn at 4.8mi. I don’t remember ever taking a left or there being a jct there. Watch out for the trail sign. A small trailhead is located underneath in the woods. Park just beyond in a grassy area. I think the road in was pretty tame and would be okay for low clearance cars but my memory of it is foggy. I was the only one there. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trail was blazed in blue and pretty regularly if I recall correctly too. Signage is intact. There was at least one blowdown: a large downed tree you could scramble over or go around on the northern half of the loop. I believe it was pretty close to the loop jct. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Seemed like a good trail for dogs. |

2nd and final little hike of the day after nearby Eagle Bluff. This was a cool little hike. I especially liked the ledge at the western knob that you very quickly come to if you hike the loop counterclockwise. Some steep sections but overall a pretty gentle hike with good footing. I don’t recall excessive mud but then again I was coming out in the dark… Gaia had me at 2.25mi, 500ft of gain, 45min. |
