Trails: Caribou Pond Road, Appalachian Trail, herd paths
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, September 2, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Caribou Pond Road is in good shape. High clearance vehicle is still recommended. There are 3-4 culverts that are deep and require caution. My two wheel drive Hyundai Kona with 6.5 in of clearance was fine to get in. There is a closed gate 0.5 mi from the Appalachian trail crossing that looks to be permanent. The bridges past that gate on the road are not in good shape.

Comments
Comments: Appalachian trail in good shape. Minor blowdown. Herd path to Reddington from Crocker was easy to follow thanks to flagging. Herd path down from Reddington to the road was very easy to follow for the first half( much less steep than AT) little harder to follow second half. All trails waypoints were very useful.
