 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I found 1 place aside for my vehicule at the end of the Rapid Stream road where they don't plow any further. Additionnel cars would make it difficult to the incoming traffic (houses in the area). It adds about 2.5 miles to walk on the snowmobile trails to the summer TH. |

 | Comments: |
Not much to see from the gentlemens' work who tracked the trail on Jan 15. I had to put my snowshoes right from the TH with two inches of fresh snow on top of an unsupportive crust where. I poked thru at very step and it was slow going. Once above treeline, there is a glazing crust mixed with ice where every single step must be well placed to avoid slipping. Spikes were out of question as I postholed must of the time. I used MSR Lightning snowshoes and I lost foot control a few times on the ice, very scary at the see of a killing slide. 5 hours from car to top. 4 hours to get back. |
