Comments
Comments: Paid Saddleback’s $15 uphill access fee and set off with snowshoes. Snowshoes or skis only to prevent potholing. Still, saw two guys coming down from AT with crampons. No big deal as trail set up nice but not carrying snowshoes so if they had to they would post hole. Trail well marked. We took the “advanced” option at a trail split. I think they referring to advanced skinning. Def cut mileage off the hike but the uphill workout was good. Mid-mountain restaurant closed. Only open weekends, maybe Friday. From ski patrol building to summit packed snow and ice and cleats would be best bet. We just left snowshoes on. Cold and windy up top. 4.7 miles round trip.
