Comments
Comments: Ascent of Sugarloaf via ski trails is 3 miles, plus 3 miles over to Spaulding. Total elevation gain was 4600 feet.

Snow was soft but all things considered not too bad. Between the summits the trail is still solid, but you will posthole even with snowshoes if you roll of the edge.

Weather was warm with very light wind. Visibility at the summits was limited. Some very light rain. Ski patrol at the summit of Sugarloaf initially told us that the summit was closed. His reason was they would not be able to effectuate a rescue within the final 150 feet of ascent to the summit. Absolutely absurd. After some discussion, he had a lucid moment and allowed us to proceed.
