Stratton Brook Pond road still closed and active logging taking place. VERY MUDDY. Park at Rt 27. Like everyone else. |

Snowbridge first one from Rt 27 holding on. Probably not for long. Otherwise no problem. |

Trees down on Horns Pond Trail just past viewpoint then small steam. |

Microspikes for first few miles then snowshoes. Stratton Brook Pond Road very muddy from logging. Had to take snowshoes off for first rocky section as bare rock. Back on and trail uneven with occasional slide offs. Around the viewpoint trail evened out and was easier/faster. Open woods area breaking through, then good again. Cloudy, foggy 40 degrees no views so opted to just head south on AT. Less traveled and fine with snowshoes until descending off Horns Pond Peak to Cranberry Pond area. Breaking through then mush and fall throughs a few times. AT south from Range Trail intersection postholed. Had to take snowshoes off eventually due to no snow, postholes, bare rock, safety. Light traction last 2 miles to RT 27. |
