Nice walk through open hardwoods. West Ridge Trail a little bit obscured with leaf cover and blowdowns, but adequate tree blazes to follow. Nice views of Pleasant Mt. from the summit. Old Tom Trail is an old logging road, wide and gradual, with some soft muddy sections, ends up on Monotomy Rd. (trail signage with hikers welcome, but limited parking). About a 1.5 mile road walk back to car. Nice loop. I didn't see anyone else today. Nice hike to avoid any snow or ice. |
