Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Burnt Jacket Rd is a good gravel road suitable for any car but the "lesser gravel road" that's more of a singe track, raised centerline, logging road, would probably only be suitable for mid clearance cars. Even with that, I would not try driving through this road to Allagash Rd. It gets rougher and very muddy. There was no parking sign in the grassy meadow though there is a sign pointing you toward the trail which made me think I should continue driving but the road gets even rougher from there (hence the guidebook describing the trail from the grassy meadow presumably). I was the only one there at 8:30 and 10:15am.

Comments
Comments: This is an interesting little mountain. Note that it's only accessible to hikers from June 1st to October 31st according to the guidebook. I ascended Red Trail, descended Blue Trail, walked the road over to Green Trail whuich I ascended, descended Blue Trail again, then walked the road back to my car, doing an OAB on a lower portion of Red Trail clearly signed but not mentioned in the guidebook (yet) where there was a reroute that formed a small loop with the main trail. I think the trails were pretty dry but there was a big mud pit where the rough road meets Allagash Rd. No great views from the summit but still a cool little hike. Gaia had me at 3.4mi, 1025ft of gain, 1hr42min.
