| Water Crossing Notes: |
Other than the big crossing over Moosehead Lake on the ferry, I don't believe there were any! |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There were a few blowdowns on the well travelled sections of trails but they were pretty easy to get around; lots more on the lesser travelled sections such as North Trail and Carriage Trail beyond Bridle Trail. Indian Trail had some red arrows on trees or something like that where it turned but not sure it was marked otherwise. Not hard to follow. The other trails were marked with light blue blaze. From an erosion standpoint, Bridle Trail isn't doing so hot. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dogs are allowed. Indian Trail may be difficult for them with the roughness and steepness, and minor scrambles. |

What a cool hike! I took the ferry across and got the job done. I took Carriage Trail and Indian Trail, then did an OAB on the lower portion of Bridle Path, then continued on it to the summit, descended North Trail and took it and Carriage Trail back to the ferry. The water was actually the roughest the captain had seen it all year which made things just a little fun! The hike was beautiful and the trails pretty dry. Hardscrabble Point was a pleasure and would be a worthy destination for those not wanting to ascend the rough trails to the summit. Gaia had me at 7.25mi, 1350ft of gain, 3hr15min. |
