Group of 3 up via the Link parking lot & return using the hiking trails plus the cell tower access path & snowmobile trail. Link and lower Bald Mtn. trail had minimal snow and ice. The ledges on Bald Mtn Trail were heavily iced over, however. We made it up no problem in spikes but opted to return via the cell tower service road and a snowmobile trail. Going down on the ice would have been trickier. We had originally planned WC and KD for today but the cold and windchill sapped our lamentable ambition; this was our substitute exercise for the day. I do love this peak and have hiked it many times; the views of the lakes from the firetower are outstanding. |
