Comments
Comments: Eggsss-Goooooo-smeeeee. Absolutely winged it today. Goosin' around and findin' out on some logging roads.. We opted to take a skidder road that ties into Goose Eye Trail, it ultimately saved about 1.2 miles. Ben was skeptical, but no wild goose chases today. Our gander was only two ugly ducklings. Birds of a feather break together. The trail conditions where so good, it was quackers. It goose without saying, you will need snowshoes. Snow was dry powder, ranging in depths from a few inches to about 6-8" at most. At 3300 feet or so there is a sharp cutoff in the easy moving and it becomes humongoose beak high drifts (or waist on you hoomans) to about the summit. Thankfully no feathers where ruffled and it was easy to bust. Of note - we ran into three forest chickens. They did not understand Portuguese and flew away. Last pitch is a bit dis-goose-ting and scary, moreso on the way down than up. There may have been some fowl language uttered. Great trough. You'll need snowshoes, spikes might be fine in places too - or just wing it. I would not bring full blown crampons for such a short pitch. Waddle down it like a champ. Or a golden goose! Ok I have had enough of this, im gonna duck out. My apologeese. I am quacking myself up over here
