 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at the AT trailhead on route 27 but I probably could have driven to the fire wardens trailhead in my subaru. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Some were open but were easily crossed. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
It seems like some trail maintainence had been done recently since the blowdowns mentioned in previous reports were gone. There are are few large blowdowns higher up on the fire wardens trail and a few on the ridge, but it wasnt that bad. |

 | Comments: |
It was a great day to hike the bigelows. It was sunny with an undercast The fire wardens trail was in great shape. There werent many fallen trees or hanging limbs in the way. The trail was previously broken out to a point above the moose falls tentsite. From that point on, I had to break trail alone through deep snow drifts. There were four people out today, so the trails are well broken out now. Conditions for the bigelows are pretty good right now with few blow downs and broken out trail. |
