Did a return to the Crockers to get north and went up the AT from 27 this time. 2 of us using snowshoes car to car but I wouldn’t call the trail packed down above 3600’. It’s basically a bushwhack currently with an absurd amount of spruce traps from covered blowdowns; and plenty of them to crawl under, stumble over, or try to find a path around. We went up south a few weeks back and it’s the same story, though I believe there had been a bit more traffic over there since. I can’t imagine the ridge between the two is any better. Plan accordingly if attempting! |
