Skiied from Abol Bridge to Roaring Brook, then snowshoed to Chimney Pond. Broke trail through powder to treeline on snowshoes. Switched to crampons for remainder of ridge. Mix of snow drifts, wind packed snow, and rocks. Within about 30 minutes the wind had covered our tracks completely. Storms Thursday and Sunday will totally hide any trace of our trail breaking. Gorgeous blue sky day. Snow was perfect for skiing the tote road. |
