Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Well, it rained all the previous night and the morning of this hike, so I wasn't hopeful about getting across Cold River on the dam abutments; however, there is currently a cabled bridge between abutments so I was all set. The water was really moving though!

Comments
Comments: After all the rain Wednesday night and Thursday morning, I'd intended to do just a short out and back on Leach Link. Apart from one slushy segment where I went in almost to midshin, conditions were actually quite fine in snowshoes, so I continued with a loop over Little Deer Hill.

Ledges Trail was great fun, especially negotiating the "cave" on the Direct route. Spectacular views of the Baldfaces and surrounding country from this little peak.

Got across Cold River okay (see water crossing notes) and hiked Deer Hills Connector and Rt. 113 back to my car.
