Comments
Comments: Hiked this from the south off of Birch ave., driving there to the trailhead was very tricky with snow ice and mud not to mention a very small bridge with snow and ice that's not much wider than my wheelbase. Starting off on a snowmobile trail I missed the actual trail and passed it by 1\2 mile or so, I went back and found it, a very faded yellow blaze. Along the way it's difficult to stay on trail because of the lack of blazes and snow on the trail makes it hard to see the trail and from what I understand this is the least used trail to climb this mountain. There was a lot of moose sign along the way, and the notch is really nice. On the way back I accidentally found the actual beginning of the trail that crosses the snowmobile track at a beaver pond and thankfully so because it follows very close to the river for some fantastic water features.
