Post-workout walk up a very quiet peak so low that I was surprised to see rotting snow in one or two spots. Must be shady areas...not that I could tell with the cloud cover and all....WFLT has done a very nice job with low steps; perhaps they had a short person as the planner. Nice views of Pleasant mountain and at Ellie's lookout, Kearsarge N, the Twins (Chatham), and Moats were easily recognizable. Of note, there is signage throughout - the MMG does not indicate this, so must be new since the 12th Ed was locked down for final editing. The quarry mine is easily reached, but no mine, per se. 12 minutes after the hike I was in Norway, buying the cheapest organic raisins around.
Yes, there was some schvayas - it was warm and muggy afterall! |
