 | Water Crossing Notes: |
We initially tried to hike Sugarloaf and Spaulding but we could not get across the raging Carrabasset River. We looked for a safe place without success and decided to climb the Crockers instead. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
So many blowdowns towards the summit that it took at least an hour more to bushwhack around. It’s very difficult to follow the trail. It’s going to take a Herculean effort to clean up the mess. |

 | Comments: |
We had a challenging wet day. It was raining/snowing. Lots of running water on the trail and 2-3 inches of wet snow towards the summit. We have never seen so many blowdowns on a trail before. We had had enough fun by the time we reached S. Crocker we decided to turn around instead of going on to Crocker. |
