Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easily rock hoppable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns here and there, but nothing you can't easily maneuver around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: The bugs were surprisingly not bad at all, even at the base of the notch. I was about to get eaten alive when I stopped at Puzzle Mountain Bakery, though. I'm guessing in the next few days they will get a lot worse in the higher elevations.

Comments
Comments: I try to make it out to these mountains at least once a year, and they did not disappoint! I started with temps in the low-50s and by the time I finished, it must have been at least in the low-70s. I did not hike the whole Table Rock Loop, instead I just out-and-backed Table Rock from the intersection with the AT around 0.8 miles from the trailhead. There were a few blowdowns across the route but they were all easy to avoid. There was a fair bit of mud, as well as standing/running water on the trail in places, though nothing unusual for this route. I found I was able to get surprisingly good traction even on the wet rocks while descending the steep part before West Baldpate.

The views were incredible today. There is still visible snow on Washington and the rest of the Northern Presis. I did not see any snow on or off trail today, though, despite there being a few spots where it looked like it had recently melted.
