Pogey Notch Trail for the first few miles is WET, I was able to get through fairly fast but a ton of mud. Pogey Notch from Pogey Pond to Russel is dry as is Wassataquoik Lake from Russel Pond. |

Last mile on the way back to South Branch on Monday was blackfly swarming time. The rest of the trail both days none. |

This is for May 24-26 It is Spring in Baxter so a bit wet and from now a bit buggy, but if the high country is closed (as it was over the holiday weekend) and you want to see magnificent Maine Wilderness, and a few Moose definitely recommended. |
