Comments: I went up the mt Chase trail which goes by an old warden’s cabin. 1400ft elevation gain gets you to the summit. Views just before the summit are spectacular…. Katahdin & Baxter state park, Sugarloaf ( shin pond ) stands right out too. Go past weather shed to true summit. I saw a bald sub peak so I found a trail ( near a sign on the way up ) I took going down and that led me to a stunning 360 bald peak with a rock cairn. Views looking back up to Mt Chase was very cool. Took waterfall trail back down…. No real waterfalls where as it looks like a seasonal runoff. Very steep in sections then really muddy about 1/4 mile from trailhead. If I’d known I would have taken mt Chase trail back down…. Regardless, awesome hike with great weather again…. Views were amazing.
