Comments: Making Tracks! Caribou Pond 6-pack. Fantastic day! Great weather! Found some fun folks to talk to!
Trail crews have been out working their magic! The north side of Spaulding was the only AT section with trees down. Sooo many cut stumps. The cooler temps were greatly appreciated and helped cut the haze a little for the views.
As expected, the bushwack from abraham side trail to the snowmobile trail/old road was very thick but not very long. I had read to head due west when it gets thick. That dropped me right on the flag at the bottom. Lots of very nice moose moss around Caribou pond and cool views of the peaks around the valley.
Redington had blowdowns as reported, but everything had a path around it and was easy to follow. Met a group with a couple very handsome dogs doing Redington and the Crockers. Back on the AT, trail was clear.
Saw a few thruhikers. The last entry in the Spaulding shelter logbook said, "the bubble is here, the bubble is now". :)
