Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Okay, the obvious issue is the condition of the Caribou Valley (Pond) Road from Route 27 to the yellow gate. As discussed in several other posts this road is unpaved and rough, but passable with higher clearance vehicles such as SUVs and trucks. I drove this road in a Honda Element with all season radial tires, which was fine. Due to the drought the road was perfectly dry (on Sept 17). BUT, there are numerous potholes, rocks, low bridge crossings and exposed culverts that are challenging. Plan on a 30 minute trip over 3.8 or so miles. Drive cautiously.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: AT in excellent shape, no trees down. Herd path to Redington is flagged with orange tape, easy to follow. Multiple trees down on the trail, but they can be walked over or around. Removed several using a folding handsaw, but several remain in place. Some overgrowth and footing can be tricky in a few spots, need to pay attention.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Pretty dry on the trail so bring water for your dog.

Comments
Comments: I was able to summit all three in one long day. Early start helped along with "reasonable" road conditions and fantastic weather (dry, light wind and warm).
