Comments
Comments: Great morning to be oot and aboot! Trail was in ok shape, considering everything. The birds were commenting on my haircut, which greatly increased my aerodynamics. Glad someone likes it.
Quite a few wet sections below tentsite. The crossings were fine other than the first one, which was icy and wider. The base was good following snowshoe tracks. Above treeline, things got interesting. The first steep pitch was mostly bare rock and passable. Above that, drifts we're still 2-3 ft deep and unsupportive to boots. I switched to snowshoes expecting to have to take them off, but was able to piece together snow patches to the summit. One person had booted to where I put on my snowshoes and seems to have turned around. The wind started building as I neared the summit and a storm was hitting late morning. I passed a group of three below the tentsite, one was carrying snowshoes. I gave a report and they said they would try it. Curious if they made it through the drifts. Quite a bit to fight through. Faint tracks from someone skiing off the summit before the rain.
Great views. Good thing I put on my rabbit feet for speed and agility. Thank you Roots!
