Comments
Comments: What a day to be outside! I got a surprise day off of work, so took full advantage. FRC was very well packed to midway pond, lightly traveled past there. One set of snowshoe tracks came down the AT from the summit, so I had a trail to follow up. Some amount of downed trees/ leaners in this section, but nothing terrible. Getting above treeline, there is a mix of crusty ice, hard ice, snow, and big drifts. I was able to get around the icy spots with snowshoes on. The ridge to the horn had lots of fresh drifts on trail, but with decent signs of traffic. Every time you enter trees, there are 5-6ft drifts. Stunning views today with very minimal wind and only clouding up mid afternoon when I got back to the truck. On the return climb up saddleback, I felt like the Grinch climbing mt. Crumpit. "Ain't nothing gonna break my stride"
Thank you Roots!
