 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at Fabbri Picnic Area. Lots of spaces available despite the crowds. (FYI, my 1st choice hike was the Bubbles, but Jordan Pond was completely full by 9:30 AM). It is definitely high season already, so the Island Explorer would probably be a better choice than trying to find parking for the popular trails. |

Hiked with friends who hadn't been to Acadia in many years. The Beehive was a conga line that gave me some idea of the issues posed by the numbers ascending Mt. Everest. I thought I was early enough in the season to avoid the crowds, but this was a clear mistake. Walked a couple feet and stopped for several minutes, repeat. No way to pass people on the Beehive trail. The Bowl was beautiful and the views from Gorham were great. Cadillac Cliffs is a very interesting geology side trip. |
