| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We had no problem getting day-use spaces at Abol and Katahdin Stream campgrounds, despite not such an early start. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |

| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
None to speak of. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No blowdowns or anything, but these are rough, scrambly trails with much boulder-hopping, even by BSP standards. Pretty good blazing on the Abol Slide. |

Not bad. |

| Comments: |
A tough hike, more tiring than you would think for 9.7 miles. Lots of hot muggy sunshine while we pounded up and down boulders and gravel had a lot to do with that. It's fun to see the happy faces of finishing through-hikers and friends. |
