| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked near sand shed on East side of Dixville Notch, just off the south side of Route 26. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Ice - Blue, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
On Huntington Cascade Trail, a bit tricky with ice covered rocks. Three Brothers Trail crossing was rock hoppable. No others on this loop. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
State Park signs have been removed for the winter, so finding the trailheads is a bit difficult. Upper Huntington Cascade Trail, as well as Three Brothers Trail, were both hard to follow due to faded blazing, blowdowns, open woods, and snow on ground. I removed most of a blowdown at the Three Brothers Trail water crossing, as it made things confusing, as well as some random deadfall, but didn't have enough daylight to do too much. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dress them in orange - heard some gunshots and saw tracks presumably from hunters wandering around some of the woods. |

| Comments: |
Trails generally had a dusting to an inch of snow. Ice on western exposed steeps - light traction not a bad idea.
Trails southeast of Table Rock were difficult to follow.
Nice loop with plenty of views. Not sure if it was the stopping at each view, trailfinding, or what, but it took longer to hike than I had planned. |
