Trail Maintenance Notes: Davis Path up to Mt. Crawford free and clear, beyond Crawford a few blowdowns but branches have been cleared so they are easy to get over. Stairs Col has quite a few standing/leaning dead trees, but in good shape overall. One tree hanging vertically in mid air right on the trail, took a couple pics.

Comments
Comments: Took the long road to get to Stairs Col trail, figuring Rocky Branch isn't opening anytime soon....and kicking myself for not hiking it when I was at Rocky Branch shelter #1 yrs ago! Crazy deep leaves on Stairs Col, stepped into a waterbar almost up to my knee in leaves!

Small amount of ice/snow didn't warrant microspikes today, just careful footing.
