In June of this year (2012), the Shelburne Trails Club opened a trail to the ledges on Bald Cap Peak. The corridor is about 0.4 mile long, and it runs from a point near the southwest end of Dream Lake to the ledges.
The PEABODY BROOK TRAIL was in good condition. One blowdown that was blocking the trail was removed. All water crossings were easily navigated. There were some spots that are very muddy on the final approach to the trail for the Bald Cap Peak ledges. There was an inch of two of snow at the upper end of the trail.
The BALD CAP PEAK LEDGES TRAIL was in great shape, other than a few blowdowns which were easily moved off the trail corridor. The entire length of this trail was covered with an inch or two of snow.
My BLOG (see link below) has a few photos taken during this trek.
