A warm day, but still some tricky ice alongside the cascades, especially on the most exposed parts and on the pinned steps.. Once it gets cold again things will get seriously slick on this trail. Unfortunately there is lots of bare ground to wear out microspikes, but today trekking poles and tip-toeing around the floes worked well enough. Once on the ridge it's mostly bare trail and easy going.
T-shirt weather to finish this peak in every month today. |
