Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Easy parking at Glencliff trailhead. Tunnel Brook Road is closed. Several blowdowns on the section we walked between the 2 trailheads.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are quite manageable with due care. Occasionally, stepping on rocks slightly under water is needed and many rocks are ice-covered.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Half a dozen blowdowns on Tunnel Brook - a couple looked new. Easy to deal with. 10-12 blowdowns on Benton but almost all are easy "duck-under" or "step-over". One at the lower section is a minor nuisance and one in the upper third is a "walk-around".
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Icy conditions here and there but otherwise a great loop-hike for dogs. Plenty of water (all streams have open water) except from the crossing of Tunnel Brook on the Benton Trail until about a mile down the Glencliff Trail. There are a few puddles on this section.

Comments
Comments: Generally, very good conditions everywhere and this loop is a great hike right now.

As others have reported there is a difficult ~50' boggy section in the middle of the pond-section on Tunnel Brook Trail. But the herd path around it is very effective and there is no need to get wet boots. Shortly after this section (going North) there is tricky stream-crossing that requires going up-stream a little bit and then maneuver through a boggy section.

There are icy sections on most of the Benton Trail but it is not difficult to deal with. We carried micro-spikes but never felt compelled to use them.

With no wind at all at the summit this made for a very pleasant day for Helle, Cinnilla and me.
