Comments: The Sugarloaf Trail was in good shape. There were some muddy spots, but on the day of this hike they were solidly frozen. There were some icy spots here and there, but nothing that would require even light foot traction. The ladder at the final approach to Middle Sugarloaf had only an inconsequential skiff of snow and wee bit of ice. The segment of the trail leading to the top of North Sugarloaf was also in good shape and generally free of ice/snow.



This was a loop hike on public land that was pieced together by using a combination of abandoned and current-day snowmobile trails, and then progressed to a short segment of the Trestle Trail, and then onward to the Sugarloaf Trail. It ended by using a corridor which generally follows the route of an abandoned hiking trail that was known as the Baby Twins Trail.
