Comments
Comments: Signal Ridge Trail dry or frozen mud to the Carrigain Notch Traill Jct. Carrigain Notch trail easy going with good footing to the big rock.

We back tracked 100 yards or so started off in a band of open softwood which soon opened into an open hardwoods area that we followed with mostly good footing until a short steep climb to a ridge. We followed the ridge up on and off herd paths. The grade steepened and we popped out on the scree field where we basked in the sun awhile enjoying the glorious views. Above the scree field the herd path steepened dramatically as advertised with some seriously rugged spots. We leveled off, reached an older marked summit and went through a brief mossy area before spotting the sign.

NE100 #100 for me today. Good place to finish up this fun list. We retraced route on descent to the ridge which we followed a hundred yards further to the west where we descended on a gradual contour through delightful open woods back exactly to our starting spot. In retrospect this slightly circuitous route to the ridge was way better footing. Thanks to Bryan, Tim and Val, and Sabrina and the pups for joining on this fine hike today!!
