Parking/Access Road Notes: Adequate parking for a lightly used trail. Note that it is located Hardwood Hill Rd. (FR 317 is not mentioned anywhere.)

Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth

Water Crossing Notes: All easily done 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is minimally marked lower down and should be followed with care. There are numerous blowdowns especially above Shingle Pond. It does not appear to have been recently maintained. Generally very smooth under foot.

Comments: This trail about four miles longer (round trip) than the Kearsarge North trail but it is worth the extra walk. It is a beautiful trail.
