Comments
Comments: quite the interesting day out. 3-5 inches of snow through out with areas along the ridge drifted in with 6-10 inches with some 3 foot drifts..much blue ice hidden under the snow in places and we all slipped a bit at times. Steady snow and sleet all day..some of the exposed ledges in the wind were a little tough. Cynthia and I started with snowshoes but ditched them quickly as trail toooo bony in places. Spikes were adequate with careful foot placement. Crampons could have been used for short stretches on the hidden blue ice. We avoided the upper chute with a short rugged but ice free bushwack from the east which brought us out at the east view ledges. Quite cold and blustery with blowing sleet on the summit where we happily celebrated Bryans Grid finish proving once again that bluebird days are over rated. Great day out with Bryan and Cynthia..Congrats to Bryan for his successful finish!!!! excellent
