GlennS and I hiked the East Pond Trail from the Kanc to the height of land, then whacked up to the summit. Some moderate thick stuff in a few places but mostly open woods on the whack. The EPT can be bare booted till it warms up. There are a few frozen post holes on the EPT. Light traction was used car to car with minor post holing well up on the whack. Snow shoes stayed on the pack. Virtually no wind and great views from Peggy's Perch at the summit. Glenn has 14 more to go on his Trailwrights winter list and I've got 7 more. Great day to be out. |
