| Water Crossing Notes: |
Sucker Brook was easy, although Eric broke through a layer of ice on his first step, but we found the rest of the crossing uneventful. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Two big blow downs blocked the trail in the next hour after crossing the brook. Care must be taken when working around them with deep snow covering a tangle of downed branches. |

| Comments: |
We were breaking trail the entire length of Carr Mountain trail. It seemed as though no one had been on this trail for a long time, other than one large animal (deer probably) and rabbit(s) up high. The trail was a bit hard to follow up high in steeper terrain due to sparse blazes. Some steep slabs may have had ice under the snow and traction devices might be helpful. We struggled a bit in snowshoes. Enough new snow fell during the day to begin to fill in our tracks a bit. |
