Lincoln a highway. Osseo had fesh snow on top of well packed base. We used light traction, snowshoes would've worked too. Crampons would've been handy to get up the ladder section. Most of the ridge had about six inches of new snow over good base. One snowshoer had been through before us. Above treeline was a mix of hard packed or ice, and drifting. A single snowshoer was ahead of me on Garfield Ridge. Thanks for finding and breaking. Well packed out and solid from Garfield to S Twin. Twinway was drifted in. With the snowpack so deep trail finding is a challenge. I lost it several times. Sorry. Stayed in snowshoes til descent of Bond. Spikes till Bondcliff descent. Back in shoes through drifted snow and kept them on for stable footbed till down low. Spikes for long walk out on the well packed end of Bondcliff and LW. A little windy. A little cold. Thanks to Bob and the dogs for joining me til Lafayette. Great day out. |
