Comments
Comments: Group of 20 ish AMC hikers and group of 12 Boy Scouts at Carter Notch Hut. The Boy Scouts were wonderful!!!! Glad I was hiking on opposite days as the AMC group as the Wildcats would have been treacherous to run into such a large group. Trail very narrow in parts requiring care as to not slip. Carter Dome trail had been tackled by both groups the day before I hiked up and over and trail was slick (butt sliders) requiring me to wear crampons the entire way, didn't take off until coming down off Carter Dome. Boy Scouts had microspikes which they reported as being a challange on Carter Moriah Trail. Snow drifts beyond Carter Dome but trail easy to follow. Very cold day which made me bail on the Carters as I was flying solo, best course of action for the day. Good way to end the winter hiking season.
