Comments
Comments: Snow negligible at the start growing to foot deep drifts on upper parts of the trail. We used microspikes but you could manage with almost any kind of foot gear. As noted by Rocket there are some icy, slippery rock ledges where traction is helpful. Gusty winds at the top of Welsh requiring extra layers. Almost continuous flurries that didn't amount to any accumulation. Worthy views for a shorter hike. Delightful trail in and out of glades. We imagined having lunch on the ledges on sunny days in the summer. Kestrel data: T = 25F, W = variably gusty ~12, WC = min 6 F.
