Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No problems. Our group used a mix of Hillsounds, microspikes and snowshoes. The trails were pretty well packed, although there were patches of unconsolidated drifting up high, and the snow as gone in the usual places facing south from Lincoln to Haystack.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Exciting day for Pepper, but he handles high winds well. For most dogs this was not a good day to be up there, and we saw no others. But to my delight we got to meet Lauky, Ed's wonderful Welsh Terrier, at the trailhead. What a great dog duo. Good luck in Georgia to you both in June, and hurry back for vacations.

Comments
Comments: Larisa, the great and powerful, finished her Grid today! She was accompanied on her hike by Rob, Clay, Sandra, Fran, Tim & Allison, and Pepper and me. The forecast was not great, all of her companions knew we might have to turn back, but we wanted to be part of her special day in some way. It turned out to be a real adventure on the ridge in the strong winds, but the temps weren't bad, the light was interesting and the clouds later cleared long enough for a wonderful tailgate with Hiker Ed presiding, Dave cooking and other hikers congratulating. It was another great day. What a weekend! Larisa will soon be running in a 100 mile race in Zion. Amazing.
