| Comments: |
Carried snowshoes but the trail was still solid enough to carry me with just the spikes, but one or two more warm days and nights will change that. I wore microspikes after the first half mile. Before that there are some short, icy section that are still easy to get around. The open section leading to the summit has, what appeared to be solid ice on the trail. However, it is just consolidated slush and I sank three to five inches into a watery slush, so I staid on the rocks. On the way down my heels began to dig deeper into the trail on Glencliff than I did on the way up.A heavier person would have preferred snowshoes. It was a foggy and windy day. |
