Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at Downes Brook Trailhead. There was a large hole, several feet deep in the lot, that was cordoned off when we finally returned later in the day. Mike nearly parked his truck in it!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow - Spring Snow
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of Downes Brook on Mt. Potash Trail was sketchy, but there is a helpful branch above the crossing that we used. The rocks in the stream bed are very loose, so be careful. The rest was a rock hop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple stepovers on Mt. Potash Trail, and a couple on the UNH Trail as well, none of any real consequence.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Banjo had an awesome day, what a great mountain dog!

Comments
Comments: Great day for a Meetup hike with Northeast Peakbaggers. Mixed conditions were abound, and we carried snowshoes up Potash, but ended up dropping them back at the cars before we headed to Hedgehog. The day ended up being mostly overcast, but the cloud formations were fantastic. Decent temperatures, and low winds, made for decidedly comfortable hiking. Thanks to everyone for a great day in the mountains!
