Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I removed some debris and blowdowns on Old Path; left some easy stepovers and big duckunders. Trails easy enough to follow. Around the split of Old Path and the ski trail there are some issues. Above it on Old Path water was running in the trail; I opened up a somewhat usable water bar but that's temporary. Below it for a ways more are needed on Old Path and then the combined trails.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy trails. Ski trail wide open and so direct sun got to Pepper; fortunately the snow/ice up high was nicely cooling and there was some running water low. Old Path shaded high, open hardwoods low, but not bad.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: I needed to redline just the ski trail upper section, but got a nice little hike out of it, and a comfy snack break at the lookout on top with a pleasant breeze. We saw 4 others early on and otherwise had the trail to ourselves. There was a surprising number of patches of snow on the ski trail in its upper sections, although all were easy to walk across. Old Path had a few very small remnants on it up high. This is a pleasant shoulder season hike which we added to the Pinkham Notch ski/hike trails and Cave Mtn trail.
