Comments
Comments: Avalon was good up to about 3200ft except for the water crossings. Started to get mixed snow afterwards. Going to Tom we put on microspikes and tried to stay on decently stable monorail. There was a very nice Greyjay on Mt Tom. Going over to field it was only monorail and a steady climb. Unstable monorail at times, occasionally just slipping off the monorail. Slow but steady.
After Field back down Avalon trail just more snow that was less stable. When we got to Mt. Avalon it was all slippery rocks and a trail that resembled a stream. Going back over the water crossings we could not rock hop and had to wade through two of them. Expect wet boots till the water comes down.
