| Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossings on Stony Brook Trail were straightforward rock-hops. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdowns here and there on both trails- duckunders and stepovers - but no major vexing issues. Signage was okay. Blazing very spotty on most of this route. Drainage needs clearing on Stony Brook - looks like maintainer has been clearing drainage on lower Carter Moriah recently - thank you! Carter Moriah could use some brushing, |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one dog today who seemed to be enjoying him/her self. |
|

No bug problems today - perhaps the breeze helped. |

| Comments: |
Ascended Stony Brook, descended Carter Moriah. No snow on Stony Brook Trail. Snow (and a little ice) here and there, in more densely vegetated areas, approaching Moriah summit from the south, but no postholing to speak of. More snow and ice descending Carter Moriah to the north - had to be more thoughtful here, especially in steeper areas, but though we had microspikes, we did not feel it was necessary to use them. We did see a couple of people who were using microspikes, so YMMV. |
