Parking/Access Road Notes:
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Large crossing on Pemi East Side Trail is tricky. Many of the stepping stones are currently submerged. Wear waterproof boots or wade.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Top of a tree is dangling over the Pemi East Side Trail just past the large crossing. Bottom of the branches touch the trail, so it's not all that dangerous...just inconvenient.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Light rain kept most of them away. Pulled a tick off of Max.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a dark blue, part-cotton, long-sleeved men's shirt on the Pemi East Side Trail near the wash-out (between parking lot and Pine Island Trail). It's now at the Ranger's Station.

Comments
Comments: Easy and scenic redlining hike. Pine Island Trail is beautiful -- kudos to the maintainers for their fantastic post-Irene reconstruction and maintenance. Pemi East Side is fun -- Lady Irene's footprints are still clearly visible and very much awe-inspiring.
